CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
By Adnews Staff
Publicite Martin of Montreal will launch a three-year awareness campaign in the fall for the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services. The campaign will focus on combating violence against women and will target young people. Publcite Martin won the business in a competition with Group Everest Communication and Marketing Consultants and PNMD, both of Montreal. Six government departments agreed to participate in the campaign, with the Ministry of Health and Social Services being the lead department responsible. According to Statistics Canada, 51% of Canadian women over 16-years-of-age have been victims of at least one act of physical or sexual violence. Twelve per cent of female teenagers aged 14 and 15 have been assaulted, 54% sexually assaulted within the context of a relationship.
