Getting To Know You of Westbury, New York has opened a Canadian office in Toronto. The company acts as the welcome wagon for new home buyers by sending them a complimentary package containing money-saving gift certificates from the sponsoring merchants and professionals. A personal telephone/address directory is also in the package, listing the names and addresses of sponsors. Only one business or service in a particular industry is printed in each directory, giving sponsors an exclusive message. In 1996, Getting To Know You sent welcoming packages to over one million families and featured 55,000 sponsors. Geting To Know You is a division of U.S.-based GETKO Group.
