FUNDY ENTERS NEW TERRITORY

Cable TV operator Fundy Communications of St. John, New Brunswick entered the telecommunications market this week, introducing its data transfer and Internet services. The new services are being promoted using TV, radio, print, direct mail and point-of-purchase advertising created by DDB Canada of Toronto. Package design and the company's Web site were also designed by the agency. DDB won the account last month after a competition with three other agencies. It will act as the lead agency, while Pulse Marketing of St. John will handle sales promotions and Heather Reid & Associates of Toronto will do PR. Fundy marketing vice-president Vlad Uher says in a release that Fundy "decided to partner with DDB because of its caliber of people and its ability to deliver fully-integrated communications. Their strategic thinking, attention to detail and sheer effort was unmatched by any of the other agencies that were reviewed." Fundy serves the New Brunswick market.
