GBV GETS CARTOON CRAZY

Toronto-based Griffin Bacal Volny got the TELETOON account last week. The agency won the $1.5 million-plus account after a competition with two other agencies. TELETOON is an animation specialty network that will debut this fall in both English and French. GBV won the business because "we wanted an agency that really understood family marketing in French and English, had a strong creative track record, could get started immediately and would commit senior people to our account," network marketing vice-president Hillary Firestone says in a release. GBV plans to launch ads in TV Guide, magazines, newspapers, as well as on radio and TV. Billboards and transit ads may also be used.
