CCAB TO FORMALIZE ALLIANCE WITH BPA
By Adnews Staff
Canadian Circulations Audit Board will merge with U.S.-based BPA Intenational in January. The move will create a North American circulation auditing service. "This broadened scope will bring us advanced technological capabilities and the ability to move into emerging areas such as audits of Internet-based media," CCAB chairman Peter Little says in a release. CCAB and BPA formed an alliance in 1991 and recently strengthened their relationship by adopting common auditing standards and formats for reporting circulation data. Last month, the duo extened services to include Web site audits in Canada. Combined, BPA and CCAB's North American membership includes nearly 1,700 audited business publications, more than 400 consumer magazines and nearly 60 community and daily newspapers. The merged organization will operate in Canada as CCAB, A Division of BPA International.
