ROM TARGETS TORONTO TOURISTS
By Adnews Staff
Bates Canada is using the current dinosaur hype to get more tourists into the Royal Ontario Museum. The agency launched a Toronto campaign recently to generate interest in the T-Rex exhibit at the ROM. The campaign uses transit shelters, on-street ads, subway staion posters and Toronto trolleys. Forty-foot banners will front the museum starting later this month. Print ads will run in tourist publications. Headlines used in the ads include "Nobody else has Rex Appeal!" "This summer discover the Joy of Rex!", and "We're not just a Rex object." In addition, the ROM is giving out discount coupons at Cineplex Odeon screenings of the movie Lost World.
