CANTEL AT&T GETS READY FOR PCS

Cantel AT&T of Toronto is getting set to launch its personal communications service. The company launched an awareness campaign for the service this week using TV. PCS phones are lower powered and use higher frequencies than cellular phones. The phones are also lighter, smaller and cheaper. Users must be within 10 metres of a small base station which relays calls locally and internationally. They can be used in offices, homes and public locations such as malls, but not in moving vehicles. The ad campaign was created by Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising of Toronto. Cantel would not comment on when the service will be available.
