RCMP resumes puppy naming contest
By Rob Bale

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has begun its annual “Name the Puppy Contest.” The contest invites children between the ages of four and 14 to suggest names for puppies born this year at the Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail, AB. The German Shepherd puppied will be trained to be future police dogs. The contest this year is seeking names that begin with the letter “A.” Entries will be accepted online until March 19. Winners will receive a laminated photograph of the puppy they have named, as well as a plush dog toy and a branded water bottle.
