EPSON USES FIRST CANADIAN PR AGENCY
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Epson Canada is using a Canadian PR agency for the first time. The company hired Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto late last month after a review with three other agencies. "Cohn & Wolfe's extensive experience and broad range of clients in the hi-tech industry is a natural fit with our growing market share in the digital imaging segment of the Canadian marketplace," marketing communications manager Caroline McGrath says in a release. In the past, PR was handled by Walt & Co. Communications of Santa Clara, California, the same agency used by Epson's U.S. parent company. The Canadian office decided to hire a Canadian agency because it wants an agency that knows the Canadian marketplace, McGrath told Adnews yesterday. Canadian advertising for Epson is created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of New York. Epson in Canada adapts the creative in-house and handles the Canadian media buy. Epson manufactures ink jet printers, scanners, digital cameras and multimedia LCD projectors.
