BC Cherry Association conducts Cherry Month promotion

The BC Cherry Association of Kelowna, BC is conducting a promotion called Canadian Cherry Month. The intiative, which will run until Aug. 15, consists of retail activities highlighting the quality of Canadian cherries. It uses the tagline, “Buy Fresh, Buy Canadian.” There is also a promotional website at <http://www.canadiancherrymonth.com> that offers information about the health benefits of cherries, as well as contests and special offers.
“Canadian Cherry Month was developed to showcase the remarkable quality and taste of Canadian cherries and to recognize the significant contributions of BC cherry producers to the Canadian agriculture industry and the economy,” said Sukhpaul Bal, president of the BC Cherry Association. “We invite all Canadians to join us in celebrating our homegrown, delicious and nutritious fruit, and encourage consumers across the country to ask their retail grocers for sweet Canadian cherries this season.”
