Myseum of Toronto conducts social media campaign

Museum the Myseum of Toronto has begun a social media campaign called “Did You Know” intended to “make history cool.” The effort consists of a series of videos on social media site TikTok and is intended to appeal to younger audiences. The creative focuses on notable moments in Toronto history, such as Babe Ruth’s first home run, the blackout of 2004, Malcom X’s last visit to the city and others.

“Myseum wanted to connect with a younger audience and meet them on a platform where they spent time,” said Heidi Reitmaier, executive director of the Myseum of Toronto. “As a museum with a focus on expanding the historical digital archive of Toronto, we decided to highlight moments and stories that are unique to the city. Watching these videos spark joy and create conversations is significant progress to our goal of reaching new audiences.”
