EATON'S UPS ADVERTISING

In the wake of filing for bankruptcy protection and announcing plans to close many of its department stores, Eaton's launched what the company is calling its most aggressive spring marketing strategy in decades. George Eaton, The T. Eaton Company Ltd.'s president, said Eaton's will increase its TV advertising by 50% in weight level and in the number of weeks it airs. Depending on the market, the TV spots will be supported by an 84-page spring fashion and home furnishings book, newspaper inserts, radio, billboards and print. The Quebec campaign is being handled by BOS of Montreal, while the advertising for the rest of the country is being handled in-house.
