DMB&B TAKES OVER WORLDWIDE ADVERTISING FOR GATEWAY

U.S.-based Gateway 2000 has given $70 million(US) worldwide account to the Los Angeles office of D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles. The agency will largely focus on creating the ads and buying media for the consumer market outside PC publications. Gateway will handle creative and media buying for PC magazines in-house. DMB&B officials in Canada were unavailable to comment on how Canadian advertising will be handled. Gateway manufactures and sells computers through direct marketing. Previously it worked with several agencies in different countries.
