Empire expands Tennis Canada sponsorship

The Empire Company of Stellarton, NS, parent company of grocery store chain Sobeys, has extended its sponsorship agreement with Tennis Canada. As part of the agreement, the organization’s venue in Toronto will be renamed the Sobeys Stadium. The 2022 National Bank Open tournament will take place at this location and at the IGA Stadium in Montreal annually. The Sobeys brand will receive exposure throughout the stadium. In addition, the company’s “Voilà by Sobeys” service will be the official “in seat ordering experience” at the venue, delivering food to attendees in their seats.

“We celebrate Tennis Canada for the tremendous work they do to advance tennis, making it more accessible across Canada,” said Erika DeHaas, vice-president of marketing communications at Sobeys. “We are proud to be their partner and host both sites of the National Bank Open in Toronto and Montreal. We are one of the biggest supporters of sport in Canada, and building on our success in Montreal with Stade IGA, we know these stadiums create a great opportunity for us to connect with fans, cheer on Canada’s champions and fuel the passion for the game.”
