BCP GRABS GLOBAL

Publicis*BCP of Montreal landed the account for TVA-CanWest Global last week. The Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission recently awarded CanWest Global a license to regenerate the CKMI TV station in Quebec City. Peter Denes, a co-director of BCP, told Adnews there had been no competition for the account. He said the agency had been working with the TVA-Global partnership on a project basis before the CRTC approval and that getting the account was a continuation of that relationship. Scheduled to go to air in September, the TVA-CanWest Global partnership will give Quebeckers a new English-language network. Quebec City, Montreal and Sherbrooke are the first markets the new service will roll out to.
