McDonald's promotes Smarties McFlurry
By Adnews Staff
Fast food chain McDonald's Canada recently conducted a campaign to promote the return of the Smarties McFlurry to its menu for the first time in six years. The social media effort consisted of a series of post indicating that the chain was going to bring something “out of its vault.” The company also requested mailing information from “Smarties McFlurry superfans” nationally to send them a surprise. In addition, miniature vaults were sent to three paid influencers and ten others.
“The McFlurry is a Canadian icon,” said Jeff Anderson, senior manager of culinary innovation at McDonald’s Canada. “It was invented in Bathurst, NB in 1995 and we are so proud to bring back the Smarties McFlurry so Canadians can enjoy their favourite treat once again.”
