CBC News promotes Brass, Zowdu

CBC News has appointed two new senior managing directors. Mervin Brass will hold the position for CBC North, while Ruth Zowdu will do the same for CBC’s Ontario Region. They will begin work on Oct. 19. Brass has been the managing editor at CBC North for four years. He will continue to be based in Yellowknife and will oversee local programming for stations in Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Zowdu was previously the managing editor at CBC Ottawa. She will continue to be based in Ottawa and will oversee local programming for stations in Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Ottawa, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Toronto and Windsor.
