Carpages.ca introduces contactless vehicles purchases

Autopath Technologies has introduced what it describes as a contactless online marketplace for cars at its Carpages.ca online property. According to the company, the “Buy From Home” service allows consumers to perform virtual inspections of vehicles for sale, electronically sign documents for vehicle delivery. These services are intended to allow consumers to purchase vehicles while physical dealerships are closed to to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company plans to add an at-home test drive option at the end of the 14-day closure period. The contactless service is currently available in Ontario with approximately 200 participating dealers. The company is also planning a national expansion.

“As health and government officials continue to stress the importance of physical distancing, we knew we needed to find a solution for customers who still needed a vehicle to get to work or get groceries,” said Ben Mirecki, president of Carpages.ca. “We also wanted to prevent our dealers, many of which are family owned, from losing everything by giving them the option to participate in ‘Buy From Home.’”
