
Ample Labs debuts COVID-Bot

Ample Labs, a Toronto-based non-profit organization specializing in assisting homeless people through technology, has launched a new website called COVID-Bot at <http://www.covidchatbot.com>. The site offers real-time information about the virus, preventative measures, assessment centres, mental health support, community care groups and answers to frequently-asked questions. The service takes the form of an online chatbot and is aimed primarily at those who are most vulnerable to the disease.
“When you can't access the Drop-in Center's washrooms or the places you've always gone to get a meal, you feel helpless,” said Michael Braithwaite, CEO of Blue Door Shelters and former chair of Ample Labs. “For people experiencing homelessness who don't know where to find places to keep safe and healthy by self-isolating, this is their reality.
