HASBRO TOYS DECLARES WAR ON GERMS

Later this spring, U.S.-based Hasbro will unveil a new line of Playskool products with Microban antibacterial protection. Microban makes toys less prone to germ and bacteria growth, Hasbro says. The first toys to carry the new feature will be the newborn, infant and toddler products. Hasbro will kick off a Canadian advertising campaign to promote the Microban toys in April. The campaign will use TV and print executions, as well as PR support. Both the TV and print will come out of HasbroÕs U.S. headquarters. In Canada, the print may be adapted in-house by Hasbro. Arnold Communications of Boston will create the advertising. Canadian media buying will be executed by OptiMedia of Toronto.
