IBM INCREASES SOFTWARE STAKE

IBM Canada Ltd. of Markham, Ont. increased its ownership of Polar Bear Software Corporation to 100% this week. IBM had owned 51% of the firm since 1992. Winnipeg-based Polar Bear has employees across Canada providing classroom training for courseware and PC end-user training. Bob Kennedy, Polar Bear's vice-president and CEO, said the deal will allow the two companies to offer such things as distance learning over the Internet.
