GETKO GROUP EXPANDS CANADIAN OPERATION

New York-based GETKO Group Inc.'s share of the Canadian data list market has grown with last week's acquisition of Syntony Marketing Inc. of Toronto. GETKO caters to companies trying to reach the home-buying sector, providing publishing and information services. Syntony will now operate as part of GETKO Group Canada. Syntony markets a file of over 12 million households and 1.7 million businesses. GETKO will relocate its Canadian operations to Syntony's Toronto offices. GETKO divisions include the Getting to Know You Program and The Marketing Information Bureau. Getting to Know You is a home buyer welcoming package that reached more than one million North American families in 1996 and involved over 55,000 merchants and professionals. The Marketing Information Bureau is a database of home buyer information used by direct mail, retail, financial and fund-raising organizations. GETKO Group Inc. is a CUC International company. CUC is a U.S.-based membership services company.
