SYSTECH HIRES FULL-TIME AGENCY

Systech of Mississauga, Ont. is trying to expand its presence in the U.S. market so it hired an agency to help it out. Systech sells refurbished computerized point-of-sale systems in North America, but currently has a small presence in the U.S. Brandworks International Marketing Communications of Toronto was given the account earlier this month without a review. The agency was referred to Systech by another client. In the past, Systech used design firms on a project basis, but decided to hire an agency because it has grown to a size where it needed an agency, agency managing partner and creative director Michael Clancy told Adnews last week. "Especially since it wants to expand in the U.S." Systech will also introduce new software to the North American market next month. Called Open Field, the open architecture software attaches to existing software, such as that found in cash registers, and allows the user to do things the existing software won't let them do. North American trade advertising for Systech and its products will begin in March.
