SURVEY SHOWS MANY BUSINESSES NOT NET-SAVVY
By Adnews Staff
A recent survey of Canadian companies with Internet presences found many were unhappy with reaction to their sites. The poll, which received 52 responses, was conducted by the Tikkanen-Bradley Consulting Group of Toronto. Almost a third of the companies said their Web sites had generated no new business, with more than 53% reporting they had generated 10% or less. A possible explanation for the companies' dissatisfaction is that many don't seem to put much effort into their Web sites. More than 41% didn't know how many visitors they got and more than 35% admitted they don't bother tracking visits. Furthermore, over 10% said they spent no time updating their sites and more than 55% said they spent 10 or fewer hours a month.
