Report: Most valuable brands in Canada

Brand Finance Canada has released its annual report on the 100 most valuable brands in Canada. According to the report, RBC remains the most valuable brand in the country for the fifth consecutive year. According to the report, RBC's brand increased in values four percent to $17.3 billion since the last study. Nine of the top ten brands are unchanged from 2017. TD remains in second place, although its brand has decreased in value by five percent to $15.6 billion. Bell is in third place, followed by Scotiabank and BMO. The remainder of the top ten includes Rogers, Telus, CIBC, Brookfield Asset Management. The only new entry to the top ten is Thomson Reuters in 10th place, the highest-ranked media company.

"RBC has shown strong growth over the last year and left TD behind to earn a standalone position as Canada's most valuable brand," said David Haigh, CEO of Brand Finance. "Its leadership role across the broader Canadian economy is a new opportunity for RBC to leverage its brand to maintain financial growth. Most importantly, RBC's brand strength is not just built upon a successful advertising campaign, but rather a deep and valuable foundation of service to its customers."
