METROLAND GRABBING FORMER ADMAIL BUSINESS
By Adnews Staff
Metroland Printing Publishing & Distributing Ltd.'s papers are going through some changes to accommodate flyer distributors that formerly used Canada Post's Economy Admail service. Canada Post is discontinuing Economy Admail in the new year. Metroland corporate sales and marketing vice-president Murray Skinner told Adnews the company's papers in Oshawa and Ajax/Pickering have added a Tuesday edition, raising their publishing frequency from two to three papers a week. He said other papers in the chain have altered their weekly delivery dates, while some have added a Tuesday flyer-only delivery service to attract former Canada Post clients. More changes can be expected during December and January, Skinner said. Metroland has already increased its flyer business, said Skinner, citing Zellers and Shopper's Drug Mart as two retailers throwing more business Metroland's way. Metroland expects to add more flyer volume next year. Metroland operates 25 community papers in southern and central Ontario
