UTILITIES CONFERENCE

The Institute for International Research will host a conference for the utility industry in Toronto from March 24 to 26, 1997. Called Customer Loyalty and Marketing Strategies for Utilities, the conference will focus on how utilities must change to survive in the North American marketplace. Speakers will talk about the future of the marketplace and give practical information on how utilities can compete in this environment. Ontario Energy Board chair Marie Rounding will discuss the future of the regulatory system in Ontario. West Kootenay Power regulatory affairs director Robert Hobbs will discuss the organization's incentive-based regulatory system
