CDMA TO PROMOTE SERVICE TO BEREAVED FAMILIES
By Adnews Staff
The Funeral Service Association of Canada has teamed up with the Canadian Direct Marketing Association to promote CDMAÕs Do Not Mail/Do Not Call service to bereaved families. The service allows people to stop receiving personally addressed advertising mail and telephone marketing calls at home. The FSAC is getting involved so bereaved families wonÕt receive personally addressed advertising mail or telephone marketing calls for a deceased family member. Funeral homes that are members of FSAC will include information about the service and how to register for it in the information package they provide to families as they make funeral arrangements. The Do Not Mail/Do Not Call service has been available to all consumers since 1988. The CDMA distributes the names and phone numbers of people registered for the program to its members. These organizations then remove those people from their marketing lists. In the case of deceased persons, their names will remain on the file indefinitely
