Wrigley begins Skittles Halloween promotion

Candy company Wrigley Canada has begun a Halloween-themed promotion in support of its Skittles brand. The initiative includes a product sampling event in Toronto on Oct. 13, accompanied by a social media component. Consumers who post a message on Twitter using a campaign hashtag during October will trigger a donation of 31 cents to Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.

The promotion also includes a contest called "Halloween Hero," conducted in collaboration with online parenting personalities Cat & Nat. The winner of the contest will receive the use of a branded Skittles vending machine to distribute candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.

"Skittles loves to bring a little unexpected fun into any situation, with a twist of course," saed Laura Amantea, marketing director of Wrigley Canada. "We're thrilled to recognize Canadians for all they do to make Halloween just awesome. As a national partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, Wrigley Canada is proud to bring smiles to the families that rely on their incredible services and support. Our national partnership comes to life through associate volunteering, corporate funding and special brand activations, just like this very Skittles activation. We hope Canadians will make a simple gesture and join us in supporting Ronald McDonald Houses.
