Quebecor signs deals with Montreal theatre

Quebecor has signed an agreement with the non-profit organization that owns the Imperial Theatre in Montreal. Through this agreement, the company will provide financial support intended to preserve the historic building and develop it as a cultural venue. Quebecor has acquired the property's mortgage debt, giving the company priority rental rights while the non-profit retains ownership. In addition, Jean-François Pruneau, chief financial officer at Quebecor, and Marc Tremblay, the company's chief of legal and public affairs, have joined the theatre's board of directors.
"Preserving our cultural heritage is a core commitment for Quebecor," said Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor. "Our support will ensure the survival of a cultural and architectural gem located in the heart of Montreal's Quartier des spectacles. We will also put Quebecor's strength behind the Imperial Theatre so it can realize its full potential and recover its old majesty. Our team will help the organization pursue its mission, for the benefit of the artistic community and the entire population."
