Rick Hansen Foundation conducts Access4All campaign

The Rick Hansen Foundation recently conducted a campaign in support of its ongoing "Access4All" initiative. The project, conducted in association with the Government of Canada, provides grants to community organizations to fund accessibility infrastructure improvements and awareness events.

Developed by Taxi Vancouver, the campaign included a television commercial and online video, as well as print, online and radio advertising. The creative is intended to demonstrate how physical barriers affect the lives of those with disabilities. The video features para athlete Djami Diallo blocked by a set of stairs.

"People with accessibility challenges overcome many obstacles to achieve greatness," said Jay Gundzik, creative director at Taxi Vancouver. "Trivial barriers shouldn't be among them. Through this experience, it became clear that while those with disabilities can overcome great adversity, the smallest of barriers create huge obstacles in their everyday lives. The video is intended to motivate people to want to help break down both the physical and mental barriers that make our world inaccessible for people with disabilities by showing the strength of someone like Djami, and how something so small and so overlooked can stop her."
