Cohn & Wolfe conducts butter tart campaign

Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto has begun a campaign called "I Heart Butter Tarts," tied to the 150th anniversary of Canada. According to the agency, the aim of the effort is to make the butter tart the official national dessert of Canada. Consumers are encouraged to visit a website at <http://www.iheartbuttertarts.com> to sign a petition and vote for their favourite kind of tart. After gathering sufficient names, the agency will deliver the petition to Parliament. The site is accompanied by an online video and social media activities.

"Butter tarts are the quintessential treat for Canadians young and old, and its origin is a source of pride," said Caroline Verboon, senior vice-president at Cohn & Wolfe. "Whether you love them traditional and gooey or chock full of plump raisins, butter tarts are uniquely Canadian, an essential component of our heritage and one more reason to celebrate Canada 150."
