ERICSSON TOUTS PALM-SIZED PHONE

Ericsson Communications Canada of Mississauga, Ont. launched a national print campaign last week for its AF 738 cellular phone, which the company says is one of the smallest cellular phones in the world. The campaign was created by Advanced Planning & Communications of Toronto. The phone became available in Canada in November. It was on U.S. shelves in October. The AF 738 weighs just under 5 ounces, is four inches high, and provides 90 minutes of talk time as well as 24 hours of standby time. The phone also has speed dial memory for 99 phone numbers of up to 32 digits and two additional speed dial memory locations to store calling card numbers. Ten character alphanumeric name tags can be assigned to phone numbers for recall by entering a word or name. Ericsson is a division of U.S.-based Ericsson Communications Inc.
