U.S. CLOTHING RETAILER TO SET UP IN CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Urban Outfitters of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is set to invade Canada this weekend, but will only be promoting itself through its stores, a U.S. PR spokesperson told Adnews yesterday. The retailer doesn't use media advertising. It relies on the architecture and design of its stores and the merchandise it sells to promote itself. In addition, Urban Outfitters always sets up shop in high traffic areas. Urban Outfitters' target market is 18- to- 30 year-olds. It sells used and new clothing, gifts and household items. The first Canadian store will open in Montreal this weekend, while another will open in Toronto next week. The company is also hoping to open a second Toronto location and a store in Vancouver.
