FINANCIAL FIRM RAISING MONEY FOR CHARITY
By Adnews Staff
CIBC Wood Gundy's staff members are donating their commissions and fees to the CIBC Wood Gundy Children's Miracle Foundation today. Over 250 children's charities will be receiving money from the fund, including hospitals, hospices, emergency shelters, meal programs, counselling services, education and recreational services and programs for children with disabilities or serious illnesses. In addition, the foundation supports six national charities: Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Canadian Hearing Society, Covenant House, Invest in Kids Foundation, Kids Help Phone Foundation and The Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. This is the program's 13th year. Last year, the world-wide effort raised $2.9 million. Public service announcements promoting the program began running in newspapers and magazines across Canada in October. Announcements also ran on electronic billboards in Toronto and on a Toronto Transit Commission bus. A PSA video was also aired on Air Canada flights. Ross Advertising of Toronto prepared the print and bus ads, while Foresight Visual Communications of Toronto created the video. Corporate communications firm Howe & Company of Toronto placed the PSAs.
