AGENCY CONDUCTING AIDS CAMPAIGN

For the second consecutive year, Young & Rubicam, Ltd. of Toronto has donated its advertising expertise to the Red Ribbon campaign for the fight against AIDS in Toronto. The second phase of the campaign kicked off in mid-November using newspaper, magazine, TV and transit ads as well as TTC public service announcements. The first phase of the campaign began in late October and used radio, newspaper and magazine advertising. In addition, Y&R and other shops across Toronto are helping the campaign by placing donation cans in their lobbies. Donations go to Fife House and the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research. Fife House provides 24-hour assisted housing for people with HIV or AIDS. CANFAR is a national, privately funded charitable foundation supporting institution-based AIDS researchers. Last year's efforts netted $131,000. This year's goal is $156,000.
