Wrigley readies Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop

Wrigley Canada is preparing to resume a holiday season promotion called the "Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop" in support of its Skittles candy brand. The initiative will make use of a temporary retail location in Toronto which will operate from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30. Consumers will be invited to exchange unwanted holiday gifts for Skittles. The traded items will be donated to United Way Toronto and York Region.

This year, the store will also display a selection of items submitted by Canadian personalities including basketball player Kyle Lowry, musical acts Lights and Arkells, hockey player Johnny Gaudreau and Toronto city councillor Norm Kelly. These items will be given away as prizes in a contest component. Consumers can enter by submitting photographs of themselves in the store to Instagram.

The promotion also includes a website at <http://www.skittlespawn.ca> at which consumers can receive coupons for Skittles by submitting pictures of unwanted gifts.

"People absolutely loved visiting the first-ever Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop last December, so as the holidays rolled around this year, we knew it had to happen again, bigger and better than before," said Laura Amantea, marketing director at Wrigley Canada. "With so many famous friends of Skittles, Canadians now have the chance to win coveted items from their favourite celebrities that have been decked out in none other than Skittles."
