Toyota Canada begins Towards Tomorrow promotion

Toyota Canada has begun a promotion called "Towards Tomorrow by Toyota. The effort consists of installations located in three shopping malls: Carrefour Laval of Laval, QC, Hillcrest Mall of Richmond Hill, ON and Tsawwassen Mills of Tsawwassen, BC.

Each installation is intended to be an "interactive, immersive environment" in which consumers can examine a range of Toyota vehicles. The installations include a virtual reality component via which a consumer can experience the safety systems of the 2017 Corolla IM, and another which is intended to present the vehicles in a more "playful" way.

Other elements include video displays about safety technology and its application in common driving situations, as well as the physical presence of various 2017 models: the Toyota 86 coupe, the Corolla hatchback, the Corolla sedan, the Prius hybrid and the Rav4 hybrid. Test drives of these vehicles will be available on weekends. The promotion also features a contest to win a Corolla IM. The campaign will run until Jan. 20, 2017.

"The way in which Canadians shop for vehicles has changed, with more drivers, particularly millennial drivers, doing their homework online and relying on word-of-mouth and personal referrals when considering a new car," said Cyril Dimitris, vice-president of sales and marketing at Toyota Canada. "But online research doesn't allow them to see the vehicles up close or touch them. With our brand galleries, we're actively engaging Canadians with our technology, design and remarkable vision for the future. The galleries are designed to connect with Canadians in the places they already go, informing and entertaining them and creating a valuable middle step on route to our dealerships."
