Winnipeg Free Press signs representation deal with Canadian Primedia

The Winnipeg Free Press has signed a national advertising sales representation agreement with Canadian Primedia Sales and Marketing. The deal also includes the newspaper's associated properties the Brandon Sun, Steinbach Carillon, its community weekly newspapers and the Carberry News Express.

In a statement, the newspaper said: "After a long relationship with Canwest and then Postmedia, we feel it is time, as an independent group in the Canadian media landscape, to separate ourselves and join with Canadian Primedia to focus on the strong reach and market presence we have in the Winnipeg and Manitoba market through our print and digital properties."
