NEW SOFTWARE TACKLES READING PROBLEMS
By Adnews Staff
Sanctuary Woods Multimedia of San Mateo, California launched new software this week that it says will help improve childrens' reading skills in a way that is fun for them. Called NFL Reading, the program gets kids interested in reading by using content that's interesting to kids: real pro football information and facts. NFL Reading covers three basic skill sets: reading comprehension, spelling and vocabulary. Users can enter their own spelling words to use in the game and read more than 1,800 passages with information about NFL teams and players. They can also polish spelling and vocabulary skills by unscrambling words and defining football terms. Just for fun, there are four arcade-style games that kids can play to improve their team's running, passing, blocking and tackling skills. North American print advertising supports the launch of the program. It was created by High Low Communications of Palo Alto, California. Sanctuary develops children's educational software.
