CIBC becomes distributor of Star Wars coins

Toronto-based CIBC has signed an agreement with the New Zealand Mint to become the exclusive Canadian distributor of a line of Star Wars-branded collectible silver coins. The line of coins promotes the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens and features characters from the movie. Each coin contains one ounce of silver and comes in Star Wars-themed packaging with a certificate of authenticity.
"As the excitement builds toward the Dec. 18 release date of the film, I wouldn't wait too long to order a coin because there's only a limited number available," said Vineet Malhotra, managing director and head of the alternate and retail solutions group at CIBC. "Each coin has a limited mintage of only 10,000 worldwide. For sci-fi fans of any age or coin collectors, they are the perfect holiday season gifts."
