Ontario Association of Optometrists begins daydream campaign

The Ontario Association of Optometrists has begun a new campaign encouraging people to take regular breaks when looking at digital screens. Developed by Edelman, the campaign consists of five online videos that encourage viewers to close their eyes and daydream for 20 seconds. The campaign also includes digital ads, theatre ads and radio commercials, along with social media activities.

According to the association, looking away from a screen for 20 seconds every 20 minutes can reduce the effects of computer vision syndrome, the symptoms of which can include headaches, blurred vision, neck pain, fatigue, irritated eyes, double vision, dizziness and difficulty refocusing the eyes.
