National reading contest hires Kaiser Lachance

The Concours national de lecture has retained Kaiser Lachance Communications of Montreal to promote the national reading contest. The agency will particularly work to promote the contest to French-speaking Canadians. The initiative is intended to encourage elementary school student to remain in school and to improve reading skills. Until April 24, students at 75 schools will participate in a board game called Recreation. The game requires players to correctly spell various words to move around the board. This is the fifth year of the contest. Kaiser Lachance is handling the account on a pro bono basis.

"For the first time since its creation in 2007, the contest includes all Canadian Francophone communities and we are glad to count on the Kaiser Lachance team to increase awareness of the project from coast to coast," said Pierre Renaud, president of the organization. "This will be achieved through a proactive traditional media and social media relations campaign, which I am confident will be highly effective."
