Tim Hortons resumes Roll Up the Rim promotion

Coffee chain Tim Hortons has resumed its long-running "RRRoll Up the Rim to Win," promotion. Consumers who purchase hot beverages during the promotion can check under the rim of the cup to instantly-win various prizes. Grand prizes this year will include 50 Toyota Camry XSE vehicles. Additional prizes include $500,000 worth of pre-paid Visa cards, 100 55-inch LG television sets, 25,000 $100 Tim Hortons gift cards and various menu items. Additional daily prizes will be awarded to consumers who visit the website at <http://www.rolluptherimtowin.com>. The promotion will run until April 17.

Tim Hortons launched the promotion with an event in Windsor, NS. Promotional workers redecorated the town overnight as "Winner, NS" and hosted a community gathering with coffee and Timbits. The company also donated $10,000 toward the construction of an outdoor athletic centre in the town. Tim Hortons has released an online video of the event. The promotion is also being supported with in-store materials and social media activities.

"Our guests eagerly await the arrival of Tim Hortons RRRoll Up the Rim to Win contest, and this year we are kicking it off earlier than ever, with even more prizes up for grabs," said Peter Nowlan, chief marketing officer at Tim Hortons. "In 1986, the inaugural year, the most valuable prize was a snack pack of Timbits. Now in 2015, there are more prizes than the entire population of Canada and our guests can win cars, TVs and millions of other prizes."
