Air Canada Vacations promotes one, adds one
Toronto-based tour operator Air Canada Vacations has appointed George Platanitis to the position of vice-president of marketing and electronic commerce. He will head the consolidation of leisure content from Air Canada to Air Canada Vacations, and will be responsible for advertising and promotions, electronic commerce, corporate partnerships, customer strategy, marketing and creative design. Platanitis has spent the last three years as director of business development and travel partnerships at Air Canada. Prior to that, he spent six years as general manager of Aeroplan.
Amr Younes has been promoted to the position of vice-president of sales. He will work to increase leisure sales for the Air Canada Vacations brand. Younes joined the company in 2013 as independent travel and cruise vice-president. He previously headed the national sales staff at Thomas Cook.
