Yahoo launches Android homescreen application

Internet company Yahoo has launched a mobile application called Yahoo Aviate. The Android application takes the form of a customizable homescreen for a user's smartphone that organizes other applications according to their use and provides information based on what the user is doing through the day. It provides news, weather and traffic updates, as well as alarms and a calendar. It also maintains contact lists and allows users to place phone calls or send text messages.
