WestJest begins Get This Card campaign

Calgary-based airline WestJest has begun a new marketing campaign promoting the WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard. The campaign, called "Get This Card," consists of six executions featuring original illustrations by Lee Lorenz, cartoonist for The New Yorker magazine. The creative depicts common complaints of consumers using other travel rewards programs, such as the complexity involved in gaining or redeeming points, the length time needed to redeem points and lack of available seats. The 12-week initiative will include print, online and search engine advertising.

"Lee's cartoon illustrations are brilliant in their simplicity and yet they tell a story by themselves," said Lauri Feser, vice-president of marketing at WestJet. "They are the perfect fit for the storyline of our WestJet Rewards program and its centerpiece, the WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard. The program is designed to address the most common pain points for consumers, and it is its simplicity and high value that is winning Canadians over."
