TEE-COMM BOWS OUT OF EXPRESSVU

Tee-Comm Electronics of Milton, Ont. has sold its stake in ExpressVu Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. in order to launch its own direct-to-home satellite TV service. The company sold its 21% hold to ExpressVu's other owners: BCE Inc. and Canadian Satellite Communications Inc., both of Toronto, as well as WIC Western International Communications of Vancouver. BCE now holds 39.5% of ExpressVu, WIC 17% and Cancom 22.5%. Tee-Comm hopes to launch its DTH service by the end of the year. Initially there will be 25 channels available, plus 30 audio channels and a number of pay-per-view channels. Tee-Comm told Adnews in an earlier interview that it will look for an agency for the DTH service in the fall.
