SHARP WIDENS NOTEBOOK LINE WITH NEW COMPUTER
By Adnews Staff
Sharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. will introduce what it says is the computer industry's first wide-screen notebook computer next month. Called the PC-W100T "WIDENOTE", the machine features a shorter screen height and a high resolution SVGA LCD display that allows users to view two Web pages simultaneously, two side-by-side full-size Windows applications, or all the columns of a regular spreadsheet. WIDENOTE also features Super High Aperture technology that increases screen brightness by 50% while reducing notebook power consumption by 38%. The computer will initially be advertised via print ads across Canada. The ads, designed in-house, will begin early next month. Other media may be used in the future.
