BIG BLACK HAT RESIGNS ACCOUNT

Toronto-based Down Under has split with its agency this week and plans to have a new one in place by next week. Currently, the company is "interviewing" five agencies. Big Black Hat of Toronto parted ways from the Down Under account because the account was no longer profitable. The budget was not high enough to take time away from working with other bigger clients, agency partner Stephen Morgan told Adnews yesterday. "They were a good start-up client." Down Under president Victor Sagar said that the company began talking to other agencies before the two decided to part company because it had been with Big Black Hat for a while and was looking for something new. Big Black Hat had the business since the agency opened its doors in 1994. Down Under spends about $2,000 to $3,000 on advertising a month. Down Under has three stores in Toronto, selling duvets, bedding and bathroom accessories.
